Consider me your go-to gal for all things fitness, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle.

Another day, another food guide and today we’re showing High Protein Food Ideas at ALDI Supermarket, cuz food is expensiiiiiiive right now. If you’ve never been: ALDI is a no-frills shopping experience, but the GOAT when it comes to affordable and budget-friendly food options. If you have one near you, it’s worth the drive!
Make sure to bring bags for your groceries, a quarter for your shopping cart, and be prepared to bag your own groceries at the register. In exchange for your hustle, you lock in serious savings and high-quality foods at bargain prices. Food options are always changing, but you’ll often see your favorite brands from Perfect Bar to Del Real Foods.
Keep your eyes peeled for yellow, red, and white “ALDI Savers” tags, as this is how you can spot clearance and discounted items within the store. Especiallyy if those pop up on meat, consider stocking up and freezing to eat at a future date.
If you do a side-by-side comparison, ALDI will likely outperform or be very close to Walmart when it comes to prices for meat, eggs, and produce! Selection will vary week-to-week, but you can also find organic, grass-fed, gluten-free options, etc.
ALDI doesn’t accept coupons since they already offer low prices every day, but I’ve heard you CAN use rebate apps like Fetch, Checkout 51, and Ibotta, if buying name brand products to earn rewards and cash back.
Not sure how much protein you need in a day? A great protein goal would be something like ~0.7-1.0 grams of protein per pound bodyweight. Meaning if you weigh 160 lbs, you’d want to consume at least 115-160g protein per day.
If you need more help with this, check my detailed guide Protein & How to Get Enough Of It
I thought it would be helpful to share prices and the macros for each food item. Keep in mind these will vary from state to state. But hopefully this is helpful either way and gives you an idea of how much bang you can get for your buck!
